Collection 18 LTD

Collection 18 was our first company we went to Tuesday morning May 24, 2016. According to the company handout we received while viewing the showroom, "Collection 18 is one of the premier leaders in design, brand, licensing, and product development". I am so happy I was chosen to write about this company because it was one of my favorite appointments on the trip. Rachel Rowberry ( creative director), and Ella Watson (cold weather designer) were very passionate and knowledgeable about fashion, design, and creativity. Collection 18 is a fashion accessory company specializing in scarves for designer brands and private label collections. The company's retail clients includes department stores, specialty stores, specialty chains, and mass merchandisers. They have a wide assortment of high end accessories at high price points, to low end accessories at lower price points. The designers combine contemporary fabrics with beautiful designs that set them apart from competitors.




Collection 18 plays a key role in merchandising all product lines to make sure product is salable and the buyer understands why the product will be successful in stores. Collection 18 follows the trends seen in runway shows. They look for color, style, fit, shape, runway, street, and other trends to determine the products that designers should be making. Collection 18 uses trend mood boards to visually understand the direction their designs should go in. Here are some examples of their mood boards. As you can see there are many aspects Collection 18 focuses on in their mood boards to determine the direction of the brand for the season.
