G A P

Here we are in the New York City! Excited to explore more but also a little bit tired of walking.
After leaving the fantastic showroom of The Row, we went to GAP Inc. -- a more structured business, and also well-known worldwide.
The incorporation setting is clean and neat as the theme that GAP presents. Various slogans and pictures are posted on the wall, which well defines the core of "Campioning the individuality" of the business.

It was nice that they have an office with the projector and screen. The two speakers, Ashley and Suko, spoke well of the business and showed us several videos of the Gap Franchise stores around the world. The video that shows the crazy launching of the store in Mumbai is interesting. Will you shop a brand for the celebrity who shows up? People in Mumbai just seemed to do that at the opening! It is also good to know that they try to maintain the store consistency which means that they try to put on products that would fit in the entire world and culture.
An advice for those who study fashion and retail, from not only those two speakers of Gap, but also every appointment we went to, try to get as many experiences as you could, no matter whether it is a volunteering, an intern, or a student organization. Entering fashion industry doesn't rely on your resume only. Nowadays, more and more companies reach out and hire people through networks. So keep in touch with everyone you worked with and work hard! Just believe yourself will be successful!
Our trip is still going on, and I will share more of it in the furture! :)
