Medusa's Heirlooms

Medusa's Heirlooms
Wednesday, May 25th

Our third appointment of the day was to a small shop called Medusa's Heirlooms owned by a woman named Kathy. The moment I saw Kathy, I knew that this was going to be a fun appointment. While talking and introducig herself, all you could see was her funky get up. She was wearing a black and whit polka dotted dress with a large skirt, toile and lots of ruffles. She was accessorized in a variety of jewelry in all sort of colors, and her hair was all done up with lotta of sparkly clips. She was such a fun and funky person and her shop reflected that. She reminded me of a boho Betsey Johnson of the sorts.

Kathy then proceeded to tell us about her shop and all that it offers. She primarily works in jewelry ranging anywhere from dainty little rings to large gaudy necklaces. Kathy said that when she started off, she was making all of her pieces by hand. She would individually place all the gems and jewels to her designs and sell them one by one on the street. Now, although her store space is small, she runs a busy and successful business sell her designs as well as vintage and contemporary pieces. We even got to do a little shopping of our own.
